For more than two decades, the Polytechnic has upheld the values of outstanding scholarship, rigorous education, and boundless intellectual curiosity. As the Polytechnic’s chief academic officer, it is the Rector’s responsibility to support and extend that mission, working in close collaboration with the department to sustain this community of scholars in our shared pursuit of knowledge and our fundamental commitment to intellectual inquiry.
The Rector is broadly responsible for the planning, implementation, and administration of the College’s academic program – overseeing academic appointments, guiding our commitment to diversity, fostering collaboration across disciplines, and allocating financial resources in alignment with academic priorities, developing and maintaining the Polytechnic’s academic infrastructure, and supporting cultural and artistic endeavors. The Rector works in concert with the Polytechnic Director Schools, Heads of Departments and the senior leadership to develop and implement an academic vision for the College that strengthens its reputation for excellence in scholarship and education.
About Professor Zulkiflu Abdu
Key Experiences
Muhammad Zulkiflu Abdu holds B.Sc (UDUS) M.Sc, Ph.D (ATBU). in Agricultural Economics with a long record of agricultural expertise in Nigerian savanna. He is currently the newly appointed Rector of Binyaminu Polytechnic, Hadejia, Jigawa State, Nigeria. Before his present appointment he was with the Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension of Bayero University, Kano. He was one time Director General Jigawa Stae Agricultural and Rural Development Agency (JARDA). Deputy Dean Faculty of Agriculture and Deputy Dean. School of Postgraduate Studies, Bayero University, Kano. He has many Publications and headed many University administrative committees. He was also the Chairman of Binyaminu Usman Polytechnic Governing Council Prior to his appointment as the new Rector.
